Mold life is one million or more than one million shots. It is the SPI-SPE standard, long time running mold with the highest quality steel and treatment.


Mold General Specs

1, Need detailed mold design for assembly and parts drawings.
2, The lowest hardness of moldbase material is 280 HB. (DME # 2 / 4140).
3, The cavity & core steel have to be hardened HRC48-52. Other mold parts, such as slides, gibs, wear plates, wedge. Etc. the hardness should be HRC54-56. There is a 4-HRC difference in steel requirements for mold parts that are in contact with each other.
4, The Ejector Guide system will be needed for ejection plates.
5, The wear plates are required for both the bevel and bottom of the slide.
6, In cavity, core, slide, lifter, mold plate, and other parts, cooling channels need to be added where cooling is needed.
7, Throughout the service life of the mold, corrosion in the cooling channel reduces the cooling efficiency, thereby reducing the quality of the part and prolonging the cycle time. Therefore, it is recommended that the cavity, core, slides, or inserts containing cooling channels be made of corrosion-resistant materials or treated with anti-corrosion treatment.
8, Interlock, tape lock, Parting line locks, or other centering parts are required on all molds.
9, Mold flow analysis is required to determine gate position, venting position, and deformation simulation.
10, The outlet and inlet of the cooling hole must be marked, and there must be a nameplate showing the cooling water circulation and water temperature.
11, All mold parts should be marked with material type and hardness.
12, All eyebolt dimensions need to be marked.
13, A Mold label will be needed to show the mold number, part number, mold size, and mold weight.

Mold Trial

1, Use the correct plastic material and confirm that the drying of the material is qualified.
2, All cooling needs to be connected, and the mold temperature needs to be measured during production to reach or close to the temperature needed for the material.
3, Scientific and correct injection molding parameters are required to be used in mold testing.
4, The mold requires automatic uninterrupted production for four to six hours.
5, Confirm that the parts can fall off automatically or can be removed with a robot.
6, During the mold test, the 32 shots sample marked with the time sequence number is required to do CPK testing.
